Getting too many images?
|
HyperImage can be fine-tuned to download all the images that you want, and none that you don't. If HyperImage is downloading images that you don't want, you can adjust your download preferences.
If you are getting too few images, you can adjust your download preferences to download more images.
The image preferences contain many options for limiting which images are downloaded.
- You can choose to only download images in the same domain, on the same server, or in the same folder as the starting address. Choosing to only download images in the same folder will get you the most relevant images.
- You can choose to only download images with certain file names. For example, you can exclude small and thumb to skip thumbnails or ads to skip advertisements. Or you can choose to only include images whose file names include a particular word.
- You can choose to only download images with certain file extensions. For example, most high-quality images are in jpg or png formats. If you want to skip advertisements, navigation elements and other low-quality images, try excluding gif files.
- You can choose to only download images with a certain file size. For example, high-quality images are usually 50 kilobytes or larger. Or if you want to avoid downloading extremely large images, try only downloading images smaller than 1000 kilobytes.
- You can choose to only download images with a certain image size. For example, high-quality images are usually 200 pixels or larger. Or if you want to avoid downloading extremely large images, try only downloading images smaller than 2000 pixels.
To find all the images on a site, HyperImage follows links to other pages. The link preferences contain many options for limiting which links are followed.
- If you only want to download images from the page at the starting address, you can choose to not follow links at all.
- You can choose to follow links to pages in the same domain, on the same server, or in the same folder as the starting address. The default is to only follow links in the same folder.

- You can choose to only follow links to pages with certain file extensions. For example, most web pages are in html or php formats. If you want to skip certain kinds of forms, try excluding asp and jsp pages.
